Devotion - Praise to the King!

Scripture: 1 Timothy 1:17 – Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen

Did you notice what our verse today says? It says to give God honour and glory for ever, and if that wasn’t long enough, Paul adds an extra ever, and an Amen! Our God deserves all the honour and glory that we can give Him. We are good at giving Him his due in spurts, or from time to time, however the Bible teaches that we should be in constant adoration and praise to our Savior! Those two words honour and glory give, us a glimpse into the attitude we should have at all times towards our Lord. Honor speaks of a Godly reverence or respect.

Glory speaks to us about exalting the Lord in the highest way possible. This encouragement is not so much that we verbally praise God, but that we live visably for Him and by this, bring honour and glory to Him! Now, I love a shouting, tear down services, but what good is our vocal praise if our lives don’t match up? Also, look again at our verse.

The Bible gives us four great reasons to honour our King. First of all, because He is eternal! Secondly because He is immortal. Thirdly, because He is invisible (yet we see His presence in our lives) and fourthly, because He is intelligent! We ought to praise him because He is the King, He will always be the King, though we cant see Him, we can know Him and we ought to give Him glory, because He is all knowing, the most intelligent of the intelligent! – Bro.
