Leftovers....

John 6:1-13

We see at least four things in our text today,
a. a Lad
"who teaches that while you may be too big for God to use (pride), you can never be too small!"
b. the loaves
"that teach us that the Lord can met any need, small or great!"
c. those lacking faith
"who said we have 2 fishes and 5 loaves but failed when counting, to add the Lord!"
d. leftovers

What can be said of these leftovers?
1. A reflection
If one looks and considers these leftovers, we can see ourselves and our lowly, leftover condition!
a. See their creation (by the Lord)
b. See their condition (broken)
c. See their position (had hit bottom, left on the ground)
d. See their reflection! (That is our life before Christ! Broken sinners, left behind by the world, laying as low on the bottom as could be!)

2. A remembering
This was our condition, but did you notice that the Lord remembered! He is the only mentioned who remembered, that is because He cares about the broken and left behind! I am glad He remembered me or else:
a. I would be ruined
b. I would have been removed
But Thanks be unto God, He remembered me!!
c. He sent for me!
d. He saved me, by covering me!
e. He sealed me!

3. A reminding
The Lord told the disciples to go pick up the leftovers, notice the 12 baskets. Each disciple had a lesson to learn! The Lord used the leftovers to teach some lessons! May I say today, that God takes broken people and gathers them into His fold, and uses them to remind people of His power!
a. Be the reminder that you should be for Him!
b. You may have a past, had problems great and battles that scarred you. But when you were left for dead, when the devil had used you up, and all seemed lost, it was HE who claimed you!
c. This is WHO I AM, I am a witness, a reminder!

4. A relocating
Finally, what did He do with the leftovers? This is a miracles mentioned in all four Gospels, yet none say that He gave them out, or did anything else with them. But, Notice what we can discern:
a. The disciples put them in the boat with them!
b. Journey to the other side
c. He came to them!
